It can be. A condenser should sit level so the compressor's oil returns properly and the refrigerant lines aren't strained at their connections. A tilted pad on a slope can also let water pool under the unit. Minor tilt can be shimmed; a sinking pad may need to be reset on a compacted base. When we level it, we check the line connections for stress and leaks.
Should we run a dehumidifier with the AC in Prescott's humid summers?
Sometimes. A properly sized AC pulls moisture as it cools, and staged or inverter compressors pull more because they run longer. If the basement stays damp or the house feels clammy after the AC has done its job, a whole-home dehumidifier can help.
