Too few returns, a clogged filter or a slow blower keep heat trapped in the furnace until the limit opens, the burners go out and the blower runs until things cool. Then the cycle repeats. We measure temperature rise and static pressure to confirm it. The fix may be a clean filter and blower wheel, or an added return, rather than new parts.
