Often for the outside part. Swapping a furnace inside your unit is usually your decision, but a new PVC vent through an exterior wall or roof changes the building, and many associations want to approve that location first. Ask your manager for the rules before the quote is final. We mark where the vent and intake would exit and provide the specifications they need. The city mechanical permit is separate, and we pull it.
Should we add a heat pump when we replace the furnace in Apple Valley?
