The draft, first. Old masonry chimneys shed mortar and flue tile that can partly block the flue, and on an induced-draft furnace that often shows up as a pressure switch fault rather than an obvious venting problem. We look at the vent connector, test the draft with the furnace and water heater running, and check for flue gas spilling at the water heater's draft hood. If the chimney needs a liner, we'll tell you before the cold gets worse.
Can a leaking humidifier damage the furnace in our Edina house?
