Ducts added through closets and chases often have one or two small returns, and when the filter loads up or a return is blocked, the heat exchanger overheats and the limit switch shuts the burners off until it cools. A dirty flame sensor causes a shorter version, lighting and quitting within seconds. We test both and look at adding return air if that's the root cause.
