The population went from about 7,800 in 1990 to 11,800 in 2000 and 20,200 in 2010, so most houses date from those two decades: two-stories, walkouts and townhomes, many backing onto wetlands, the Rice Creek chain or preserved open space.
Older homes are scattered among them: a few farmhouses, 1960s and 70s ramblers on larger lots, and lake homes of mixed ages, some of which may heat with propane where gas service never reached. The newer houses are built tight, with condensing furnaces, air exchangers and finished walkout lower levels where the mechanical room hides behind a door off the family room.
